This miracle can be very useful, and even more secure than the other options available for opening/closing your garage door. But how on earth do they work?

They work off a code and number system. By entering a number that you’ve previously set, a transmitter is activated that sends a signal to the electronic locking mechanism in your garage door. These systems do however require an electrical source, generally battery operated. And while it’s true that these types of systems are perfect for garages, you can also find a keyless entry system in certain high end cars. While the mechanism that unlocks the door is different from a garage system, the principal is actually the same.

One great benefit that this type of system provides is protection. With a remote controlled opener, or the manual system, anyone has the ability to get into your garage and have free reign over the place. Aside from being a terrifying thought, this is also very unsafe, especially if your garage is attached to your home. It would be very easy for a burglar to enter your house and harm you or your family. By having this a keyless entry system, you’re adding trustworthy security to both your home, and family.

Aside from protection and security, it’s nice to know that installing one is actually rather easy. By simply mounting the unit with two screws at a convenient location, be it on the side of your garage, or on the garage facing, you’re then ready to begin programming your keyless entry system. With every keyless entry system the programming varies, so you’ll have to read the manual.

Just about every design has an easy to open slide-able cover. These covers can be removed without any tools or gadgets. Depending on the brand you buy, the covers also come in different colors, aside from just black. Another nice thing about a keyless entry system is that no matter how hard it’s raining or hailing outside, the strong, weather opposing plastic will hold up effortlessly. Along with being heavy-duty, a keyless entry system also has an indicator that will tell you how low your battery is. Thankfully, when you change the batteries once they’re dead, the unit will stay programmed. No matter where you live, this type of system is convenient as well as effective.
